The Grant County Sheriff’s Department will host its first of a series of Grant County Citizens’ Academy sessions on Wednesday, April 2.
The academy features presentations on a variety of topics related to law enforcement from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, 8820 U.S. 61 in Lancaster.
Participants may attend one or all of the sessions. Space is limited. The first session covers an introduction to law enforcement, dispatch and the jail. Subsequent dates and topics include:
- May 21, a look at the K-9 and therapy K-9 programs.
- Sept. 17, a look at the department’s specialized units.
- Nov. 19, a look at the drug task force and related issues.
