On Wednesday at 11:23 a.m., Grant County Dispatch received a report of a hit and run on Highway 151, near mile marker 1, in Jamestown Township. The reporting party, 32-year-old Alex Breen of Dubuque reported he was traveling south when he was passed by another vehicle. Breen reported as the vehicle was passing him, it crossed into his lane, sideswiping his vehicle. Breen reported the vehicle did not stop and left the scene heading toward Dubuque. The Dubuque Police Department assisted the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and located the offending vehicle, which had stopped at a business on the other side of the bridge in Dubuque. The driver was identified as 62-year-old Karen Steffen of Cuba City. As a result of the investigation, Steffen was arrested for operating while intoxicated 4th offense in Iowa. Steffen was also issued citations for operating while intoxicated, operating while revoked, hit & run, and unsafe lane deviation, from the crash that occurred in Grant County.
