On Sunday around 9:00 a.m., The Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one vehicle rollover crash, on Highway 133, just west of the city in the Town of Boscobel. During the investigation it was determined 52-year-old Colleen Berent of Boscobel, was traveling east on Highway 133 when she looked away from the road to answer her cell phone and her vehicle began to veer off of the roadway to the right. Berent attempted to maintain control of the vehicle, but she over-corrected her steering and ended up crossing the centerline and entered the ditch on the opposite side of the road. Berent’s vehicle traveled down the embankment, and rolled an unknown number of times before coming to rest on its wheels. Boscobel Fire and EMS were dispatched to the scene. Berent was transported to Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital by Boscobel EMS and was then transported to UW Hospital via Med Flight. Assisting at the scene were the Boscobel Police Department, Boscobel Fire Department, Boscobel EMS, and UW Health Med Flight. Berent was cited for Inattentive Driving.
