A Platteville man has been sentenced to three years in prison after illicit substances were found in his home. 30-year-old Nicholas J. Forbes recently received the sentence in Grant County Circuit Court after pleading guilty to charges of manufacturing/delivery of amphetamine, possession with intent to deliver amphetamine/methamphetamine, maintaining a drug trafficking place and prostitution. The charges stem from a January search of Forbes’ Platteville apartment, where authorities state they found drugs and drug paraphernalia. Per a plea deal approved by Circuit Court Judge Lisa Riniker, three additional charges of prostitution and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed. After his prison sentence, Forbes also will serve four years of extended supervision.
