Wisconsin men’s basketball saw its undefeated start come to an abrupt end last week, with back-to-back losses to Michigan and Marquette. Associated Press poll voters reacted accordingly. The Badgers tumbled nine spots to No. 20 in this week’s poll. Despite beating the Badgers, Marquette dropped one spot to No. 6 because of a loss to Iowa State (who themselves are now up to No. 3). Wisconsin’s fellow Big Ten members saw a mixed showing, with Purdue dropping to No. 11 and Oregon staying put at No. 12. The going does not get any easier for the Badgers this week. On Tuesday they go on the road to take on Illinois, and on Saturday they head to Indianapolis to take on Butler.
