Two arrested following reports of poaching

The Iowa County Sheriff reports that on Friday [November 22], Iowa County Law Enforcement and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources received multiple tips in the Clyde township of poachers looking for a deer they had shot overnight. During the investigation a search warrant was served at an address on East Clyde Street in the Village of Avoca. Parts of the illegally harvested deer were located at the residence. Two individuals were arrested. 36-year-old Mark Reek of Avoca was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia. 69-year-old Kim Wardell of Muscoda was arrested for resisting/obstructing an officer, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony bail jumping, and a probation hold. Investigation continues and further charges will be referred to Iowa County District Attorney’s Office by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Iowa County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Iowa County District Attorney’s Office, Richland-Iowa-Grant Drug Task Force, Avoca Police Department, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, and Avoca EMS.
