Reflecting a trend amongst local governments, the City of Lancaster will rely more on the portion of the levy outside control of the State Legislature. The Lancaster Common Council approved their 2025 budget, which included a 5.5% increase of the city’s overall portion. Overall, the city is only seeing a levy increase of $87,900 for 2025 compared to 2024. Council members Kayden Crapp and Matt Pennekamp voted against the budget.
