Galena-area residents are invited to participate in a yearlong process to update the city’s comprehensive plan that will begin later this month. The comprehensive plan was last updated in 2003, according to City Administrator Mark Moran. Moran said City Council members have in recent years discussed the need to update the plan, and $90,000 was allocated for the update in the city’s budget for fiscal year 2025, which was approved in April of this year. The comprehensive plan will address topics including land use and development, transportation, public infrastructure and residential areas.
