The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is investigating a multistate outbreak of Salmonella infections linked to eggs from a Wisconsin farm. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC), 65 people in nine states have been infected with the strain of Salmonella. This includes 42 people in Wisconsin. All eggs labeled with “Milo’s Poultry Farms” or “Tony’s Fresh Market” have been recalled. These Wisconsin-based eggs were distributed in Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan. DHS is urging people to check their eggs and throw out any from these farms. They also tell Wisconsinites to contact health providers if they believe they ate some of the recalled eggs or are experiencing symptoms of Salmonella, including diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever and vomiting.
