As students and staff in the Mount Horeb Area School District return to the classroom on Tuesday, many of them will be reminded of the tragedy that struck the community on May 1. A new resource will be in district buildings this school year. His name is Crumbl and he is MHASD’s new support dog. Crumbl was given to the district by Custom Canines, a Madison-based organization that trains service dogs for veterans and first responders. Crumbl is trained to work with students and staff who are experiencing anxiety or stress. Crumbl is living with Mount Horeb’s High School Principal Cody Lundquist and his family. Crumbl will spend most of his time with his four handlers, including Lundquist, at the middle and high schools.
