Forecasters have issued an excessive heat warning as hot temperatures mark the beginning of the week in the tri-state area. The National Weather Service says the excessive heat warning is effective from 11 AM to 8 PM Monday in Clayton, Delaware, Dubuque, and Jackson counties in Iowa; Jo Daviess County in Illinois; and Crawford, Grant, Iowa, and Lafayette counties in Wisconsin. An excessive heat watch has been issued for Tuesday, August 27 for the tri-state area. Heat indices could reach 110 degrees Fahrenheit Monday and Tuesday. Teh weather service reminds outdoor workers to stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade as often as possible. Motorists are reminded to avoid leaving kids and pets unattended in vehicles.
