Hazardous materials were released from a boiler in Richland County on Tuesday. In a Facebook post, Richland County Emergency Management said chemicals were released from a boiler at an industrial plant in Richland Center. Multiple agencies including Richland Center FD, Vernon County Hazmat and Wisconsin DNR responded. A statement has been released regarding the hazardous materials spill. On Tuesday, water treatment chemicals were released from a plant boiler at Foremost Farms. The chemicals entered a storm drain and flowed into a tributary of the Pine River. Officials have confirmed there are no threats to the public, wildlife, or the environment. They said the chemicals did not reach the Pine River. Water samples were taken downstream, upstream and in the tributary, all of which tested normal.
