Authorities say three people were injured Saturday when a motorcycle collided with a vehicle in northwest Illinois. 53-year old Daniel Hicks and 49 year old Sara Hicks, both of Apple River, and 86 year old Rebecca Nelson of Mineral Point, suffered injuries in the crash. Daniel Hicks and Sara Hicks were flown by helicopter to University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics for further treatment of their injuries, while Nelson was treated at the scene. According to reports, the crash happened at about 5:25pm Saturday at the intersection of Stagecoach and Canyon Park roads east of Apple River. A release states that Nelson stopped at a stop sign while traveling north on Stagecoach Road but failed to see Daniel Hicks’ motorcycle and proceeded through the intersection. Daniel Hicks and his passenger, Sara Hicks, collided with the passenger side of Nelson’s vehicle. Nelson was cited with failure to yield at a stop sign. The crash remains under investigation.
