Authorities in Vernon County arrested two people following a traffic stop last Thursday. According to a release, a deputy sheriff from the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office stopped a car on Highway 82 around 8:00 p.m. near Spry Road. The passenger, 54-year-old Kimberly Sheehan of Viroqua, was arrested on seven charges related to drug possession, bail jumping and parole violation. The driver, 39-year-old Lukas Mesa of rural De Soto, was arrested on an apprehension request from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections as well as unrelated domestic abuse charges from early July in the Town of Wheatland. A judge ordered a $1,000 cash bond for Sheehan and a $2,500 signature bond for Mesa. They are due back in court on July 30. Both are currently held at the Vernon County Detention Center.
