The Lafayette County Fair at Darlington is Wednesday, July 10th through Sunday July 14th. The Fair Board has made the decision to allow lactating dairy cattle on the grounds. Exhibitors need to present a negative H5N1 test and current premise ID before unloading. Dairy cows are to arrive July 10th (Wednesday) at the normal schedule and be released immediately following the cow show Wednesday night. All other dairy animals must stay on the Lafayette County Fairgrounds until release on Sunday.
In the meantime-The Washburn County Fair at Spooner has become the 4th county fair in the state added to the list of not allowing lactating dairy cattle to be shown during their fair.
