Cassville Man Flees Sheriff’s Deputies Following Crash

A man from Cassville-47 year old Chad Klein is facing a number of charges from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and the Cassville Police Department.  Authorities were notified Friday Afternoon just after 5 pm of a two vehicle crash on Highway 35 at Budworth School Road in Beetown Township. The caller indicated one of the vehicles, a green jeep had fled the scene.  The investigation indicated the green jeep failed to stop at the stop sign, striking the second vehicle, occupied by a husband and wife from Bryant, Iowa. Based on a recent incident where Chad Klein, driving a green jeep fled from authorities.  It is believed Klein was the driver of the green jeep involved in the accident on Friday Afternoon.  Authorities were driving to Klein’s residence on Garden Prairie Road, where the pursuit of Klein continued. After reaching his home, Klein fled on an ATV.  Authorities eventually learned Klein’s juvenile daughter was in the jeep at the time of the crash and sustained a minor injury from it.  As Grant County Deputies left the Klein residence, he was seen coming back on the ATV before fleeing one again across the farm field into the woods.  The Sheriff’s Department is actively trying to locate Chad Klein.
