Gov. Tony Evers on Thursday ordered flags to fly at half-staff in honor of the late Sen. Herb Kohl. Flags will remain at half-staff until Kohl’s interment. Kohl’s philanthropic foundation announced Wednesday that he had died after a brief illness. He was 88. Kohl was also the president of the Kohl’s department store chain and longtime owner of the Milwaukee Bucks, purchasing the team in 1985 and selling them in 2014. His purchase ensured that the Bucks remained in Milwaukee. Services for Kohl are expected to be held next month.
