Four Grant County Fire Departments are received an additional $178,901 in federal grant funding in continuing rounds of awards through this year’s FEMA Assistance to Firefighters program. The Bloomington Fire Department will receive $45,098 to purchase 16 portable radios, a thermal imaging camera, a rescue saw and scene lights. The Glen Haven Fire Department will receive $38,892 to purchase mobile and portable radios. The Hazel Green Fire Department will receive $65,197 to purchase mobile and portable radios. The Montfort Fire Department will receive $29,714 towards the purchase of a breathing air compressor and SCBA filling system. Agencies receiving grants are responsible for a local match of only 5% towards the cost of the overall project. The program will continue to make awards throughout the coming months.
