Highway 35, south of the Village of Desoto, has remained closed until the Wisconsin Department of Transportation can approve roadway inspections for safe usage. Motorists are asked to continue to use detour routes until further notice. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department will advise when the roads will be reopened. It is currently out of the control of the Crawford County Highway Department to reopen the roadway and rest solely on the Wisconsin DOT as BNSF crews have completed their clean-up process from the train derailment. Any inquiries at this time can be directed to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
