The Shullsburg School District will not be opening a day care this year, as the district still is mulling over a facility plan. Superintendent Mike Raso shared a day care program update this week, telling families the district needed more time to finalize program logistics. A report says the current plan is to open the day care some time during summer 2023. A more exact timeline will become clear once the facility plan is finalized. Meanwhile Raso announced that Sheena Long has been hired as the day care director. She will begin her employment with the district on Monday. Long will be a member of a soon-to-be-formed day care program committee, which also will include members of district administration, parents, teachers and community members.
