Authorities say two southwest Wisconsin men are facing drug charges after Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted the DNR with a poaching investigation. According to a release, law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant at properties in Viola earlier this week. DNR officers say they’ve conducted a multi-year investigation into roughly 150 deer that were illegally killed. While searching the properties, deputies discovered a large tote holding several individually packed containers of marijuana. Authorities arrested the co-owners of the property – 58-year-old Dominic Stanek of Viola and 56-year-old Dennis Stanek of Readstown. They’ve both been charged with possession with intent to deliver THC and maintaining a drug trafficking location. The DNR is still investigating its illegal poaching case.
