Green County officials say they are notifying people whose information may have been accessed during a data security incident. County officials say they recently discovered that an unauthorized party gained access to their network environment, according to a notice posted on the county’s website. After a forensic investigation and a manual document review, it was determined that on May 19, personal information may have been accessed or acquired by an unauthorized party between February 2, 2025 and February 4, 2025. The information that was accessed may have included individual’s first and last name, address, date of birth, Social Security number, state identification number/driver’s license number, bank account information, and/or health information. Starting June 2, Green County began notifying people whose information may have been accessed. Those people were provided with best practices to protect their information. People whose Social Security numbers may have been exposed have been offered complimentary credit monitoring. Anyone with questions is directed to call a confidential, toll-free response line at 888-686-4702. The response line is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding holidays.
