On Saturday the Dubuque Drug Task Force, in conjunction with the Asbury, Peosta, Farley and the Dyersville Police Departments participated the nationwide drug take back event. The total weight of prescription and non-prescription medication collected the day of the event was 207.0 pounds. The total weight of sharps collected was 175.6 pounds. In addition, between October of 2024 and April of 2025 a total weight of 554.26 pounds of prescription medication and non-prescription medication was collected five area drop boxes. The combined total weight collected during the event was 761.26 pounds. The items collected will be incinerated at a later date.
