Authorities said the driver of a reported stolen vehicle was killed in a one-vehicle rollover crash in Grant County. The driver was killed in a crash at approximately 11:20 p.m. Saturday on Highway 61 near Stenner Hill Road in the Township of Marion. According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department, a press release states that the identity of the driver is being withheld pending family notification. The driver was traveling north on Highway 61 when the vehicle slid off the roadway while leaving a curve downhill. The vehicle entered the gravel shoulder, then a ditch, and rolled multiple times. The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Both lanes of Highway 61 were closed for approximately one hour as a result of the crash. Earlier Saturday, Sauk County authorities had notified Grant County authorities that the vehicle had been stolen. Authorities are investigating the crash. This is Grant County’s second fatal crash in 2025.
