A residential fire in Dubuque’s North End caused about $20,000 in damage Thursday morning, authorities said. The Dubuque Fire Department responded at 5:12 a.m. today to a report of a fire on Jackson St. According to a news release, responders arrived and found a fire in the home’s basement. The fire was extinguished within minutes. All occupants were accounted for and had evacuated prior to the department’s arrival. No injuries were reported. The home was determined to be uninhabitable, and the American Red Cross is assisting the occupants. The fire remains under investigation.
