The Prairie Du Chien School District has reportedly cut girls gymnastics, dance and cheer. According to the Prairie du Chien – Fennimore High School Gymnastics Facebook page, who say the board voted to cut the programs at a meeting Monday night. According to a posted agenda for Monday’s meeting, the high school gymnastics program, dance and cheerleading were on the list of 12 items for potential co-curricular cuts for the 2025-26 school year. The agenda also lists other potential action items related to budget, such as closing B.A Kennedy elementary school, increasing breakfast and lunch prices, academic program reductions, and other suggestions. The Prairie du Chien school district recently had an operational referendum fail and according to the district, even if that referendum passed, further reductions were needed to bridge a funding gap. No official meeting minutes have been posted from Monday.
