A Blue Mounds dog breeder currently under investigation by a court-appointed prosecutor has filed suit against a group of animal rights activists, alleging they have sought to “weaponize” government regulators against it and engaged in a campaign to scare away its customers. Ridglan Farms, which breeds beagles for use in medical research, filed the suit April 4 against Verona based Dane4Dogs, its two founders, and a man who worked with the group. The suit’s primary allegation is that the activists “improperly obtained” a list of some of the Ridglan Farms’ customers and have since contacted them to share their complaints about the facility and encouraged them to stop doing business with Ridglan or face having their relationships with the breeder made public.
