The Iowa Department of Education announced that the Students First Education Savings Account (ESA) program officially opens for applications for the 2025-26 school year Wednesday, April 16, at 8 a.m. Parents and guardians can access the online application from a link on the Students First Education Savings Accounts webpage. Applications are available in English and Spanish and will be accepted until Monday, June 30, at 11:59 p.m. All Iowa resident K-12 students are eligible for the ESA program, regardless of their family income. Funds held in an ESA can be used for tuition, fees and other eligible qualified education expenses.
