Platteville breaks ground on their new fire facility

On Wednesday the City of Platteville broke ground on their new fire facility on W. Adams St. The new facility was designed with the safety of firefighters in mind, as well as response times and a facility that will last for many years. Paul Budden, a co-chair of the fundraising committee for the new facility emphasized during the groundbreaking ceremony that the overall support across the district made this possible. 

Many community leaders were present for the ceremony including Rep. Travis Tranel and Senator Howard Marklein who participated in the groundbreaking portion of the ceremony. Senator Marklein says the community fundraising was impressive and shows how much the community values this project. 

The City hopes to have a grand opening of the new facility in July 2026.
