The Cuba City Police Department says a recent school safety threat in the Cuba City School District is not credible. According to a press release form the Cuba City Police Department a student deliberately spread a false rumor on social media claiming that another student intended to bring a knife to school. After conducting interviews with the involved students, the police determined there was an ongoing disagreement between the students and one intentionally made up a claim about the knife. Both students confirmed no threat was made and there was never intention to bring a weapon to school. The school district is unable to share details regarding student discipline but emphasized that appropriate action is being taken in line with district policy.
