The man accused of kidnapping a pregnant teen from Beaver Dam waived extradition Thursday in Sarpy County, Nebraska, court. 40-year-old Gary Day waived extradition for charges outside of Nebraska on two separate cases. This means he has voluntarily agreed to return to other jurisdictions where he faces charges. Both Arkansas and Wisconsin have requested he be extradited. He pleaded not guilty last Friday to two misdemeanor charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and false reporting in Sarpy County and is expected to return on April 24 to Sarpy County court. Authorities arrested Day on April 2, after a couple at an Omaha truck stop raised a red flag when they saw him and 17-year-old Sophia Franklin traveling together. Sophia Franklin was reunited with her family the next day. Day faces charges of child abduction and child enticement in Dodge County. He also faces charges in Arkansas.
