Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency is offering free compost to residents at four locations. Residents can self-load up to 1 cubic yard of material at no cost at bunkers at the entrance to the Dubuque landfill and the Dubuque Municipal Services Center. In Epworth compost can be picked up at 212 N. Center Ave.; and in Cascade at Fifth Avenue Southwest and Pierce Street. People seeking large quantities can purchase compost. Appointments can be made at dmaswa.org. The compost is certified by the United States Composting Council.
