A bullet discovered in a Sparta High School classroom prompted a brief hold Monday. According to the Sparta School District, no firearm was discovered and there was no known threat to any students or staff. Sparta Police conducted interviews and searches. The high school had an increased police presence through the remainder of the day Monday. The investigation is ongoing. Students returned to their normal schedules. This is the third incident of a bullet being discovered in a Monroe County school, with two others occurring at Tomah Middle and Tomah High School earlier this year.
