The Dubuque Drug Task Force is organizing an unneeded-medication disposal event this month. The free and confidential collection will occur from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26 at the Dubuque Fire Training Facility. Acceptable items for disposal include prescription and over-the-counter medications, including vitamins, supplements and herbals. Medications should be kept in their original containers, if possible. All liquid containers must be sealed in leak-proof plastic bags. Needles, syringes and other sharp items in puncture-proof containers will be accepted. Vape pens and e-cigarettes will be accepted if the batteries have been removed. Thermometers, inhalers, glass items and infectious waste are prohibited.
