Johnsonville, LLC has issued a recall for approximately 22,672 pounds of cheddar bratwurst products that may be contaminated with hard plastic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Saturday. The specific product being recalled is the 19-ounce sealed firm tray package containing five pieces of “Johnsonville BRATS CHEDDAR Bratwurst.” The affected products were produced on February 5, and shipped to retail locations in various states inclduing Wisconsin. According to FSIS, the problem was discovered after Johnsonville received two consumer complaints reporting hard plastic material found in the product. Consumers who might have the product in the freezer should either throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.
