Authorities remained on scene late this morning at a Galena-area residence after a daylong attempt to serve the resident with a warrant, though a press release states there is no threat to the public. The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Department press release states that on Wednesday, the department received a domestic-related petition for a firearms restraining order against 53-year-old Enrique O. Silva. A search warrant was issued, and a preliminary investigation revealed Silva had two outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrants. A deputy arrived and Silva fled on foot when the deputy tried to make contact with him, and “it was believed” he entered his residence using the rear entrance. The deputy did not enter the residence due to the presence of known firearms inside. The release states numerous attempts were made to contact Silva, including calls; texts; drones; a public address system; and a “drop phone.” After answering his phone once and saying he was “at a job site,” Silva turned off his phone and did not respond to attempts at contact. At about 3 a.m. today, assisting agencies were released from the scene. Silva was not located. The release states that Jo Daviess County deputies would remain on scene until Silva is located and/or the search warrant is served.
