In a new interview with Fox News, Carly Pearce revealed that the “debilitating” symptoms she was experiencing were initially dismissed by doctors, before she was eventually diagnosed with pericarditis, a swelling and irritation of the tissue around the heart. The 34-year-old country star received the heart condition diagnosis in 2024, after experiencing symptoms such as chest pain and shortness of breath. “I’m doing a lot better,” Pearce told the outlet. “I’m still kind of just on a health journey in general.” She then shared some helpful words with her fans, “My biggest piece of advice for anybody is: Listen to your body and be your own advocate, because a lot of doctors dismissed me, and I was persistent until I got a diagnosis.” Pearce is now focused on managing her condition and finding her “new normal,” while balancing the demands of her country music career with her health issues. The singer is currently on the road on her Hummingbird World Tour, and is set to play Columbus, Ohio on April 10 with Carter Faith. (People)
