Representative Mark Pocan (D-WI) and Madison area workers are standing in solidarity with federal employees. Pocan joined union members Saturday at the “Beat Back The Billionaire Attack” rally. People there condemned Musk’s involvement in making cuts to the federal workforce. They also called for the protection of programs like Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Pocan said Medicaid is health insurance and long term care for 1.3 million people in Wisconsin. One out of three kids in Wisconsin gets their health insurance from Medicaid. That’s 45% of adults with disabilities living independently in their homes. 55% of our seniors in nursing homes. Pocan also encouraged people to cast their ballot on April 1, which he called the “most consequential election in the country.”
