According to a Facebook post from Iowa County Sheriff Michael Peterson, Iowa County 911 Dispatchers & First Responders had a busy Saturday. 911 dispatchers handled 103 calls for service. Meanwhile, approximately 45 fire and EMS agencies were paged out between 7 AM and 8:30 PM, spending countless hours protecting communities across Iowa County and the surrounding counties. In the post Sheriff Peterson said that dispatchers and their calm, steady voices are the backbone of emergency response.
