A school custodian in the Middleton-Cross Plains school District has been placed on leave amidst an investigation into alleged child sexual assault. Online court records show 40-year-old James Myers is charged with repeated sexual assault of the same child. Court records show the offense was committed on Sept. 30, 2012. in Mount Horeb. The matter was investigated by the Mt. Horeb Police Department. Middleton-Cross Plains says they are aware of the recent criminal charges against Myers and he is on a leave of absence from his position. Because it is a pending personnel and criminal matter and out of respect for all individuals involved, including minor children and their families, the school will not be publicly commenting on it at this time.
