On Wednesday at approximately 9:30 A.M., a Grant County Highway Department snow plow was plowing snow in the north bound lanes of Hwy 61 in Liberty Township. The snow plow was in the center lane of the three-lane highway. Directly behind the snow plow, were several vehicles, which were also north bound on Hwy 61, including a semi. The semi driver, 36-year-old Kendon Kropf of Blue River passed three vehicles in the right lane and attempted to pass the snow plow. Kropf struck the passenger side snow plow wing, which was plowing in the north bound “slow lane” of Hwy 61. The rear duals on the semi’s trailer struck the outside wing of the snow plow. The snow plow wing received minor damage, along with minor damage to the rear duals on the semi trailer. No injures were reported and Kropf was cited for Unsafe Passing on the right. Both vehicles were able to be driven away from the scene.
