Police said a woman drove while impaired and played a game on a phone with two children in the vehicle in Dubuque. 33-year-old Montana R. Schwank of Galena, Ill., was arrested at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday in the area of East 18th and White streets on charges of operating while intoxicated and two counts of neglect or abandonment of a dependent person. Court documents state that Schwank drank alcohol while driving with two children younger than 10 in her vehicle. A parent of one of the children in the vehicle alerted police after receiving texts with photographs and videos of Schwank drinking alcohol and playing a game on a smartphone while driving. Police found a case of beer on the front, passenger floorboard of the vehicle. Five or six beers appeared to be missing from the case. Schwank also told authorities that she had taken prescription Adderall prior to driving.
