Green County Healthy Community Coalition released its 2024 community health assessment on Monday in which mental health and housing were the top themes for Green County to address. The community health assessment took place from May 2024 through September. Respondents identified housing as the ‘social detriment’ of health most lacking in the community. 41% disagreed that there are enough housing options that cater to the needs of different demographics, 40% agreed that there are enough resources for people facing housing insecurity or homelessness. Mental health was the top theme for the community to address, as roughly 17.6% of Green County adults said that their mental health was not good for 14 days or more in the past month.
