A former Dubuque nonprofit leader who stepped down from his role and entered into hospice care several weeks ago has died. Dubuque Rescue Mission Executive Director Morgan Frazer died Sunday, according to assistant director and temporary acting director Jeff Lenhart. Frazer was 62. He began his role in June 2023 but was diagnosed with esophageal cancer just weeks into his new position. This past spring, Frazer was diagnosed with liver cancer. He stepped down from his role and entered into hospice care around Thanksgiving when his health declined. Lenhart said the organization’s board will determine the next steps for the mission’s leadership.
