Students are not the only ones in Wisconsin getting their report cards. The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction released its school and district report cards for the 2023-2024 school year Tuesday. The report cards give schools and districts a 1-5 score in each of four categories: Achievement, Growth, Target Group Outcomes and On-Track to Graduation. A 5 equates to “Significantly Exceeds Expectations,” and a 1 to “Fails to Meet Expectations.” Overall, DPI said the results for the 2023-24 school year were similar to the previous year’s results. Out of 377 public school districts, 353, or 94%, ranked at 3 or above overall. 324 of the districts had no change in their rating. Area school districts that earned ‘Exceeds Expectations’ were: Argyle, Barneveld, Belleville, Fennimore, Iowa-Grant, Lancaster, Lodi, Monroe, Platteville, Prairie du Chien, Richland, and Wauzeka-Stueben. While Boscobel, Brodhead, Cassville, Cuba City, Darlington, Dodgeville, Highland, Pecatonica, Reedsburg, and Shullsburg all received ‘Meets Expectations.’
