A new study shows the economic impact of Wisconsin’s agriculture industry topped $116 billion, Governor Evers’ Office announced Monday. The study, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Agriculture and Applied Economics, showed an increase of almost 11% in the industry’s economic output from 2017 to 2022, the most recent year where this data is available. The $116.3 billion in 2022 is just over 14% of the state’s total economic output. Dairy accounts for $52.8 billion towards the state’s economy, the study found, and agriculture accounted for 9.5% of the state’s workforce, clocking in at 353,900 jobs.
