Zach Top released his debut album, Cold Beer & Country Music, back on April 5, 2024. But the 27-year-old singer was already well on his way to winning over a growing number of music fans before his first record ever came out. That groundswell of support was fully realized when Top’s song, “I Never Lie,” became a viral hit on TikTok, propelling the track to reach No. 68 on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart, while it also currently sits at No. 16 on the Hot Country Songs chart. That success caused Top to be nominated as New Artist of the Year at the upcoming CMA Awards. “It may be the countriest song on the record,” Top says of “I Never Lie.” “It sticks out and there’s nothing but steel guitar on there.
