Southwest Wisconsin Technical College recently purchased 85 acres for nearly $1.3 million to help start a precision agronomy program. Southwest Tech already has an agronomy program, but precision agronomy differs in that it emphasizes the use of technology to collect and analyze data in order to make farming more efficient. Drones and other pieces of advanced equipment will be used by precision agronomy students when the program launches in the fall of 2025.
