The Farley Volunteer Fire Department sold a city-owned fire truck and kept the money even though the department is legally separate from the City of Farley. That’s according to a report released Thursday morning from State Auditor Rob Sand’s office. According to Sand’s report, the nonprofit fire department sold a city fire truck for $85,000 during the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2022. The department deposited that money into its account. According to the Auditor’s report, city official said the fire truck was purchased with fund raising proceeds. The report also says the sale of the fire truck should be the responsibility of the city.
