A Lafayette County man is advocating for the Amish community, trying to have school zone signs posted near an Amish school. Jim Kostohrys has lived on King Road in the Town of Willow Springs for 20 years. He feels the curves and blind hills on King Road make it especially dangerous for children walking to and from school, or even getting dropped off on horse and buggy. As a retired police officer and veteran, he said it’s an accident waiting to happen. Kostohrys is passionate about helping his Amish neighbors, who he said are good people who always lend a hand. He feels it’s his duty to be their voice because they are so private.
